CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #530 colours

 hello lovely stampers!

It's time for this month's colour challenge at CAS colours and sketches and Michal has put together such a happy group of colours. It reminded me of the sea!

I haven't used these dies in a while and they're so sweet - I really should get them out more. The background ocean is ink smooshed card, die cut into a circle. The shells and sealife were die cut from ink smooshed card and coloured card. I love how the seahorse has wrapped his curly tail around the netting!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: Gummiapan fishnet, seashells, seahorse, crabs, Hero Arts infinity circles
  • stamps: Lavinia pink orbs, Paper Rose tiny forest
  • inks: broken china, candied apple distress oxides

thinking of you

 hello crafters!

I'm joining in today with the lovely team at addictedtocas who currently have challenge #250 with the theme: sky.  I love a good sunset and what can be prettier than silhouettes against a sunset sky? Beautiful.

I went with a trio of distress oxides to ink blend the sky, then die cut the silhouettes from black card. The ground was just cut with a cutting wheel in the shape I wanted.

Since I haven't used this large dandelion die before, I'm also posting this card to Darnell's fabulous blog, NBUS. Sending hugs, Darnell!

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #529 sketch

 hello crafters!

Here's the first of our monthly sketch challenges at CAS Colours & Sketches, and this lovely challenge was put together by Jeanne. Since Valentine's Day is approaching, maybe this is an opportunity to put some love onto your card. Hope you'll join us in the gallery!

To keep is CAS, I chose to emboss half of the front panel. I thought the little lock and key were so cute, I couldn't resist putting them with the cut out heart. After die cutting them from a stencilled offcut, I rubbed foundry wax on them to make them look metallic. This turned out to be a simple card with no stamping!

The current AAA cards challenge #257 is also CAS with an optional twist of "love is in the air" and the current tictactoe challenge has first column: heart, red, punch or die cut, so I'll post this one in those challenges too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the CC&S gallery!

  • dies: Alexandra Renke slide frame vertical, Hunkydory ornate heart, Gummiapan safety kit, Honeybee buzzwords
  • embossing: Fiskars texture plate hearts

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #528 colours

 hello lovely crafters!

Hope you had a relaxing christmas and a wonderful new year celebration. We're looking forward to a year of crafty fun at CAS Colours & Sketches, and I've resolved to send out more of my cards instead of just growing my stash. Which means I have to be more organised with dates! Right, enough of the resolutions lol. Today we're starting off with a colours challenge proposed by Jeanne. Hope you'll join us in the gallery!

I chose to do a simple, elegant design incorporating the colours. I began by using a brayer to create an ombre panel then die cut the frames. The flower and leaves were die cut from coloured card.  I just love the long slender stem on this flower die.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: Alexandra Renke artist flower, rectangle frames, Altenew leaf mix, Gummiapan small heart
  • stamps: MFT take shape, Gummiapan happy birthday

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #527 seasonal

 hello lovely crafters!

It's time for the last challenge for this year at CAS Colours and Sketches and we are asking you to choose a challenge from 2023 and make it a seasonal card! I chose Joanne's sketch from February.

I love this sketch because it's so versatile! I used some fun xmas paper for the border, then die cut a large tree and adhered it over the circle. The sentiment was stamped and the tree was finished with a tiny silver star.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to check out our guestie Deborah's blog. We can't wait to see your creation in our gallery!

Have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year, and we'll see you back for a fresh colour challenge on Jan 9!

  • dies: Sizzix arctic bear, hero arts infinity circles
  • stamps: MFT bitty holiday wishes
