always be yourself

 hello stampers!

I had some time today on a rainy Sunday afternoon so I made a card for justusgirls challenge #689 where it's CAS week with the theme 'three of something'.

I've had these Gummiapan penguin dies for a little while but hadn't used them before today - so cute! I paired them with some MFT iceberg dies and some salty ocean and tumbled glass distress oxide ink smooshed background card. Sentiment was computer generated.

I'm also linking this one up to Darnell's fabulous blog, NBUS. Sending hugs Darnell!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

tictactoe challenge #218

  hello lovely stampers!

I'm so happy to be guest designer over at tictactoe challenge #218 this week! Once again a terrific board has been proposed with some nice and simple elements - can't wait to see your design in the gallery!

I found the option for 'any colour' interesting and decided to do a monochromatic card using not just any colour but just 1 colour! So I choose middle row across: any colour, free, sentiment.

The background was ink smooshed then stamped, stencilled and the edges blended all using the same ink. The die cuts are all black, white or ink blended. The little birdie was fussy cut and gently watercoloured using the same ink. I find it amazing that you can get so many variations in colour from just 1 ink pad - I think the distress oxides are awesome in this regard. The sentiment was clear heat embossed for shine.

Thanks so much for joining me today. The tttc team have made some awesome cards as inspiration - we'd love to see your creation in the gallery!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #516 sketch

hello stampers!

It's time for the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Jeanne has a sketch perfect for CAS creations!

The background was stencilled just along the vertical stripe loosely, then stamped with the mini seed head in second generation. I used some design paper for all the coloured die cuts. The butterfly was edged in ink and adhered with foam squares. The happy birthday sentiment was die cut, stamped and white heat embossed.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to check out our guestie Tristan's blog, and we hope to see your card in our gallery!

  • dies: Tim Holtz brushstroke butterfly, Alexandra Renke leaf clusters, square, MFT skinny strips, paper rose tiny arrows
  • inks: salvaged patina, chipped sapphire distress oxide
  • stamps: gummiapan happy birthday, Lavinia mini seed head, honeybee bitty buzzwords
  • stencils: aallandcreate lotza squares

tictactoe challenge #216

 hello lovely stampers!

I'm thrilled to be guest designer over at tictactoe challenge #216 this week! The team always put up a fun board with terrific inspiration, so come along and join us with a creation of your own!

When I saw the option for 'green and blue' I knew that would be my start as they're my favourite combo of colours. From there I could have gone several ways but decided to veer away from my usual CAS creation  so I went with the first row down: green and blue, layers, and die cut.

The background was ink smooshed in blue then stencilled in green. I wanted to arrange the die cuts to make several layers and gosh it makes such a lovely dimensional card! Most of the die cuts are from panels of ink mopup, some with stencilling, and the sentiment was white heat embossed.

Thanks so much for joining me today. The tttc team have some awesome inspiration - we'd love to see your creation in the gallery!

  • dies: Alexandra Renke artist flower, word circle, filmstrips, mini tags heart
  • stamps: paper rose tiny forest
  • inks: tumbled glass, bundled sage, peeled paint distress oxides, versamark
  • stencils: paper rose mark maker 1, lavinia elegance

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #515 colours

hello crafty stampers!

It's time for the colours challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Jeanne has put together 3 gorgeous colours.

Some white heat embossed stars surround the city shape. The city was die cut from washi tape covered card - I love this washi tape with the little crosses, it almost sparkles! The city was also die cut from inked card in the other 2 colours. The little envelope has a coordinating flap, but is just a tiny rectangle, trimmed and adhered with a tiny foam square.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and we hope to see your card in our gallery! Don't forget to check out the team's cards for inspiration, as well as our guestie, Tristan!

  • dies: Kaisercraft city, MFT skinny strips
  • inks: abandoned coral distress oxide, soft sea foam
  • stamps: MFT bitty holiday wishes, Lavinia mini stars
