deepest sympathy

 hello crafters!

I'm joining in today with the word challenge #696 over at justusgirls, where the prompt is 'moon'. I just love gazing at the moon - it's so peaceful and comforting, like a dependable friend!

I began by ink blending the background in faded jeans and shaded lilac distress oxides. The moon was a die cut circle, ink smooshed with lost shadow distress oxide, doubled up and outlined with blended lost shadow ink for a haze. A cover of wink of stella gives it a little glitter. The mountains are Sizzix Arctic Bear, one of my favourite sets, and the little clouds from MFT were die cut from ink smooshed card also.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #520 colours

hello crafters!

It's time for the colours challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and this month I'm hosting your challenges! I'm so excited to see everyone's creations, so let's get to it! The happy grouping of colours is perfect for summer fun or a celebration!

I based my design on this card I made last year, changing the vibe to be more celebratory. The background square was embossed, and the inside frame was stamped randomly. Mostly die cuts with a little embossing and some stamping made it fairly simple to pull together.

My youngest turned 18 this year so the demand is high for 18th birthday cards! Thanks so much for stopping by today and we hope to see your card in our gallery! Don't forget to stop by and check out my teammates' blogs and our guestie, Tristan.

  • dies: hero arts infinity squares, snowflakes and swirls, alexandra renke stars, kaisercraft numbers, honeybee bitty buzzwords
  • inks: chipped sapphire distress oxide
  • stamps: MFT take shape
  • embossing folder: su subtle 3D

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #519 double

hello stampers!

We have an extra Tuesday this month so it's time for the double challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Patricia has proposed a lovely colour grouping with a simple sketch using a shape other than a rectangle.

I wanted to keep it a simple card with the focus on the flower. I used one of my favourite flower stamps, gold heat embossed the outline stamp then stamped the other layers with distress oxides. The leaves were stamped directly on the card panel, with the flower popped up on foam squares.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and we hope to see your card in our gallery! Don't forget to check out our guestie Tristan's blog too!

  • dies: altenew beautiful day
  • inks: seedless preserves, spun sugar, peeled paint distress oxides
  • stamps: altenew beautiful day

I used a new to me die for some interest as the background, then expanded on the circle theme using ink smooshed die cuts and black card. Sentiment was clear heat embossed.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and we hope to see your card in our gallery! don't forget to stop by to check out our guestie, Tristan's blog.

thanks

 hello lovely stampers!

I'm joining in today with a couple of challenges that go so well together. The talented teams at color throwdown have kraft, white and green this week, while the paper players have a tictactoe challenge. I chose the top row across: flowers, green, embossing.

I tried out the technique inking the embossing folder before running it through, so you get the colour in just the background. It works a treat with this 3D embossing folder - Altenew beautiful bergenia. I used a brayer to spread bundled sage distress oxide over half the folder. The edges of the embossed panel were also gently inked in the same colour. The Altenew fancy thanks die was die cut twice and stacked. The mini butterflies from memory box were finished with a few gems. Love this colour combo!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
