CC&S challenge #511 sketch

hello lovely stampers!

It's time for the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Cécile has proposed a very versatile sketch on a square card.

I wanted to use up some die cuts that never made it onto previous makes - my little box is overflowing! Ended up using lots!

Some leaves were die cut from ink smooshed card, some from white and watercolored, and some from ink blended card. The flowers were all die cut from ink smooshed card in different colours. The vase was die cut from white and lightly stencilled, the sentiment was die cut from ink blended card and mounted on die cut vellum. The leaves and vase were adhered, the flowers were popped up on foam squares. Sentiment was adhered with the vellum.

Thanks so much for spending some time with me today. Make sure to check out the other design team cards, and our guest designer, Lesley!  We hope to see your card in our gallery!

  • dies: gummiapan flowers, hearty twigs, witch hazel, paper rose little vases, hugs, altenew leaf mix die set, MFT fab foliage
  • inks: mowed lawn, twisted citron, carved pumpkin, squeezed lemonade, picked raspberry, tumbled glass, bundled sage distress oxides

happy birthday

 hello crafty stampers!

I'm playing along today with the latest challenge at tictactoe #206. Elizabeth has put together a terrific board and I couldn't resist! I chose the diagonal down: flowers, yellow, gems. I also notice the challenge at the paper players is a tictactoe this week as well! I'm entering their challenge also and choosing bottom diagonal up: sparkle, die cut, embossing.

I began by ink smooshing a card panel with scattered straw distress oxide ink and letting it dry. This formed the lovely yellow background. Several mark stamps were used in both scattered straw distress oxide and also white heat embossed for a bit of shine. Then layers of die cuts were assembled, and the panel was finished with some sparkly dew drop gems.

Thanks so much for stopping by and spending some time with me today!

CC&S challenge #510 colours

hello stampers!

It's time for the colours challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Cécile has proposed a beautiful group of colours.

Hexagons were die cut, 1 from embossed card and 1 from an ink smooshed card scrap. The birdie and birdcage were die cut. The birdcage was clear heat embossed for shine, and some twine wound through the top.

The sentiment was also die cut and adhered. I love how the clear heat embossing makes the cage look like metal!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and we hope to see your card in our gallery!

  • dies: gummiapan birdcage, gummiapan happy birthday, paper rose birdhouses, hero arts infinity hexagons
  • inks: abandoned coral distress oxide

CC&S challenge #509 sketch

 hello lovely stampers!

It's time for the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Valérie has proposed an interesting sketch on a slimline card.

The inspiration for this card was Jo Rice from Lavinia Stamps. If you have a chance, spend some time watching her videos - they're always inspiring!

I began by cutting the card base and front panel. I admit I had to check on the size of a slimline card as I don't often make them - the most popular size is 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" which is quite a big area! I cut the front panel 3" x 4", which leaves so much glorious white space!

I began by ink blending around the edge of the base and panel. Then some ink was blended over a stencil held over both panel and card base. The stamps were applied just to the card panel.

The sentiment was die cut from inked card, clear heat embossed and stacked twice. Lastly the butterfly was stamped with a coordinating colour.

Thanks so much for spending some time with me today and we hope to see your card in our gallery!

  • dies: gummiapan happy birthday
  • stencil: Lavinia stamps elegance
  • inks: bundled sage, dried marigold, carved pumpkin, mowed lawn, aged mahogany distress oxides
  • stamps: Lavinia stamps mini seed head, mini flutter, foliage set, woodland fern, altenew wildflower doodles

CC&S challenge #508 colours

 hello crafty stampers!

It's time for the colours challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Valérie has proposed a very happy group of colours.

A big inspiration for this card was Chris Stokes and her card layouts. Her cards are always lovely, usually cas, and quite simple and elegant. Do find her on YouTube @chrissieannie - her videos are excellent!

I began by lightly stencilling the background in a neutral colour. The vines, grass and flowers were die cut and watercolored. I used very watered down ink for the overall colour with a stronger blend for the details and centre of the flowers and leaves. The ladder was die cut, stacked twice and roughly ink blended with a neutral colour.

I had fun winding the vines around the ladder - springtime is lovely, isn't it?

Thanks so much for stopping by today and we hope to see your card in our gallery!
