CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #550 seasonal

 hello crafters!

This happens to be our 550th challenge. Woohoo! What a terrific way to round out the year! We're proud of the milestone but we couldn't have done it without you, our family of crafters. So thank you to all who joined in, read our blogs, or felt inspired by our challenges - join us in celebrating for the last challenge this year.

This is our last challenge for this year at CAS colours and sketches and as is tradition, Patricia has asked you to take one of our 2024 challenges and make it seasonal.

I chose to use challenge #548 which has such lovely traditional christmas colours. The background was stencilled using a texture paste. The smaller die cut tree was adhered. The larger tree was stacked 3 times, and adhered with foam squares. The sentiment was die cut from silver card, stacked twice and adhered with the tree.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!
We wish you all the best for the holiday season and look forward to seeing you back again in 2025!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #549 sketch

  hello crafters!

This month's sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches was designed by Patricia.  This one is perfect for a CAS layout with all the elements at the top of the landscape panel. You can flip the design if you prefer, or make it vertical. So many possibilities! I chose to make it a square card.

I used black card as the base, and die cut lots of little stars from ink smooshed card. A strip of vellum was stamped with the sentiments, clear heat embossed and wrapped around the front panel, over the stars. The 21 was die cut, stacked and adhered. The star outlines worked really well to stick the vellum down so it didn't bulge. The front panel was adhered using foam squares. This one is for my son who turns 21 just after christmas. Eeek!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #548 colours

   hello stampers!

It's our colours challenge for November at CAS colours and sketches, and Patricia has paired these very christmassy colours together.  In all the hubbub of christmas preparations, I think it's nice to have a calming touch of minimalism. Join us with a CAS card!

The larger square was ink blended and die cut.  The smaller square was die cut from coloured card. The sentiment was inked and clear heat embossed for shine. The pine sprig was die cut, ink blended then die cut again to fit into the smallest square shape.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • stamps: Altenew warm blessings
  • inks: evergreen bough, antique linen distress oxides

 hello crafters!

The talented team at timeout challenges has a photo for inspiration this week. I couldn't resist!

I chose a strip of design paper which was the closest thing I had to coffee beans, and die cut the coffee cups. The lids were die cut from black card, and the little labels from aqua card. They were assembled on the design paper which was adhered with foam tape to give the idea of space in the cups. The sentiment was stamped, die cut and adhered with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #547 sketch

 hello crafters!

This month's sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches was designed by Laura.  I love the simplicity of this design which lends itself to so many options!

For some reason my brain went to birds sitting on a wire, so that's what I did. I switched the orientation horizontally, and used an ink smooshed panel for the background. The birds were die cut from another inked panel. The wires were really thin strips of black card and the sentiment die cut from white card. Quite a simple card to put together, in the end!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!
