CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #514 sketch

 hello lovely stampers!

It's time for the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Shannon has proposed a very versatile sketch on a square background.

The background was a leftover from some ink mopup with some wet stencilling over the top. This was ink blended around the edge and layered with black card behind. The butterfly stamp was clear heat embossed for shine. Shout out to Chris Stokes @chrissieannie who has used these mini butterflies on her cards and I thought they were so gorgeous I had to get the die!

The sentiment was also clear heat embossed, edged in ink then popped up on foam squares.

It's quite hard to take a photo of the black embossing, but it's quite shiny irl. Thanks so much for spending some time with me today. With such a versatile sketch, we'd love to see your card in our gallery! Big thanks to Lesley for being our fabulous guestie - don't forget to check out her card too!

**I'm also entering this into a new to me challenge, alphabet challenge where the prompt is F is for Flying!

  • dies: hero arts infinity squares, memory box mini intricate butterflies, MFT skinny strips

CC&S challenge #513 - colours

hello stampers!

It's time for this month's colours challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Shannon has proposed 3 colours that I wouldn't have thought of putting together but actually play really nicely with each other.

I began by ink blending lightly over the centre of the card panel, then stamped dots with the same ink. A square was die cut, then embossed with lines, then adhered over a die cut leaf. The presents and arrows were die cut and adhered. The sentiment was stamped, die cut then adhered over another die cut tag.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and we hope to see your card in our gallery! Don't forget to check out our guest designer, Lesley's blog too!

  • dies: gummiapan presents, paper rose arrows, altenew leaf mix, MFT skinny strips, hero arts infinity squares
  • inks: su blushing bride, memento tuxedo black
  • stamps: gummiapan happy birthday, lavinia stamps mini dots
  • embossing: fiskars texture plate lines

love

 hello stampers!

I find myself with some spare time today so thought I'd craft and enter a couple of challenges. This one is for justusgirls colour challenge and I used the sketch from freshlymadesketches this week.

I began by ink blending pumice stone and tumbled glass distress oxide inks. Then I partially embossed SU woodland embossing folder over the blue half. I used Alexandra Renke dies (new to me and so awesome!) for the film strips, honeybee stamps die for the sentiment, memory box mini intricate butterflies die for the tiny butterflies and Tim Holtz brushstroke butterflies for the larger one. The large butterfly was also clear heat embossed on the purple details. Finished it off with a few dew drop gems.

Since this is my first time using the Alexandra Renke dies I'm also linking this to Darnell's fabulous NBUS blog. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

just for you

 hello stampers!

I'm joining in with this week at just us girls where the challenge #681 is to make a CAS card with a silhouette.

The background was watercolored using wilted violet distress oxide ink - all the lovely pinks come out of the purple colour! The leaves and flowers were stamped using Lavinia stamps foliage stamps with chipped sapphire and squeezed lemonade distress oxides with a little unicorn white ink. The moon was shaded with lost shadow distress oxide. The fairy from paper rose was die cut and adhered with foam squares. The sentiment from Honeybee stamps was inked with wilted violet distress oxide, and the panel was finished off with chipped sapphire and black soot inking around the edge, and a few dew drops.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

CC&S challenge #512 double

hello lovely stampers!

This month has a double challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and this time Patricia has proposed a beautiful combo of colours with a simple sketch.

For the sketch part, I placed the offset panel over the card base and gently swiped some ink at the edges to give the effect of the tilted panel.

A circle stencil was placed over the card front, then the ocean waves were stencilled through it. A separate circle stencil was used for the sun. The sailboat was die cut from orange card and mounted on tiny foam squares. Sentiment was stamped in the same colour as the ocean waves.

We'd love to see your creation in our gallery! Don't forget to check out our guest designer, Lesley's blog too. Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • dies: gummiapan sailboat
  • inks: peacock feathers, mustard seed distress oxide
  • stencil: MFT circles, darkroom door small circle, scrapmatts ST9074
  • stamps: Altenew sentiment strips
