hello lovely stampers!
It's time for the sketch challenge at CAS Colours and sketches and Shannon has proposed a very versatile sketch on a square background.
The background was a leftover from some ink mopup with some wet stencilling over the top. This was ink blended around the edge and layered with black card behind. The butterfly stamp was clear heat embossed for shine. Shout out to Chris Stokes @chrissieannie who has used these mini butterflies on her cards and I thought they were so gorgeous I had to get the die!
The sentiment was also clear heat embossed, edged in ink then popped up on foam squares.
It's quite hard to take a photo of the black embossing, but it's quite shiny irl. Thanks so much for spending some time with me today. With such a versatile sketch, we'd love to see your card in our gallery! Big thanks to Lesley for being our fabulous guestie - don't forget to check out her card too!
**I'm also entering this into a new to me challenge, alphabet challenge where the prompt is F is for Flying!
- dies: hero arts infinity squares, memory box mini intricate butterflies, MFT skinny strips
- inks: chipped sapphire, wilted violet, salvaged patina distress oxide inks, versafine clair nocturne
- stamps: honeybee stamps bitty buzzwords, Tim Holtz happy everything blueprints
- stencil: aallandcreate lotza squares
Beautiful Rachel! I just love that vibrant background, it would be such a shame to waste it! The shine of the embossing really defines your stamped butterfly and the addition of the lilac ones is perfect too. (P.S. you might want to add this to the gallery over at The Alphabet Challenge Blog where they are on 'F for flying'; whilst you're there check out my DT friend Deborah's card - she too is a fan of inky backgrounds!)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful mix of vibrant colours in your fabulous background to showcase the stamped butterfly and pretty butterfly embellishments, thank you for joining in at the Alphabet Challenge

ReplyDeleteThe graphic black butterfly looks fabulous with the flitty purple die cut butterflies - great dimension! And yes, wow I agree black embossing is hard to photograph - it looks great.
Thank you for the shout out to my blog! :) It was so fun to play along with you all this last few months - thank you for the great opportunity!
