CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #562 sketch

hello stampers!

It's time for the latest challenge at CAS colours and sketches which this month was designed by Shannon. She has designed a landscape sketch with 9 white rectangles making up the design. It leaves the background to be anything you want!

I used an ink smooshed panel as my background, die cut the little rectangles and adhered them on top. The sentiment and heart were die cut from ink sprayed card, with the shadow die cut from vellum. The little lizard was die cut from the same ink sprayed card, then lightly ink blended at the edges. I curled the little tail around the 'g' and adhered the lizard with a foam square - so sweet!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: Paper Rose hugs, heart, Poppy stamps whittle lizard, Alexandra Renke film strip (inside)
  • inks: peacock feathers distress oxide ink spray, peacock feathers, vintage photo distress oxide

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #561 colours

 hello stampers!

Laura has put together some vibrant colours for our next challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. I figured a little goes a long way so I used just touches of these hues on a white card.

I love a hexagon and surely don't use them enough, so I embossed a panel then die cut a hexagon for the background. The butterfly was die cut, then the pieces ink blended. The sentiment was stamped then cut out using a hexagon right side up and then upside down to get the shape.

Thanks so much for stopping by - we'd love to see your card in our gallery.

  • dies: Sizzix brushstroke butterflies, Memory Box intricate mini butterflies, Hero Arts infinity hexagons
  • embossing folder: Recollections overlapping circles
  • stamps: Gummiapan happy birthday
  • inks: wilted violet, prize ribbon, uncharted mariner distress oxides

teabag

 hello stampers!

I don't know how it's come to the 14th and I've only just now looked at the snarky sisters challenge and realised it's R is for Rude! I mean, don't ya just HAVE to join in?

I made a little teabag! Complete with folded bottom and stapled string. Boy did it take a while, but turned out great. I should have just measured a real teabag - but no, I had to make it up from scratch. Love this sweet background paper with washed out colours.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #560 sketch

 hello stampers!

We have the latest challenge for you - it's a great sketch at CAS colours and sketches designed by Laura. She has designed it as a square card but you can choose to change it to a different shaped card. I kept it square and centred the focal area, but only gave the illusion of 2 of the squares.

To give you an idea of size, the card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and the squares are each 1 1/2". This left a border of about 1 1/4" all around the squares.

I wanted to create different layers so I die cut out 1 square then reverse stencilled the card panel behind. Another square was embossed, ink smooshed and adhered on top of the front card panel. The little cogs were die cut from ink smooshed card then adhered across the last 2 squares. Such a fun one, I think I have a new favourite colour combo!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: Gummiapan cogs, safety set, Trinity Stamps bitty tags, Hero Arts infinity squares
  • stencil: Stamperia gears and cogs
  • embossing folder: Sizzix mini foundry
  • sentiment: Honey Bee Stamps bitty buzzwords
  • inks: salvaged patina, hickory smoke, frayed burlap, mustard seed, vintage photo distress oxides

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #559 colours

hello stampers!

Joanne has put together some lovely colours for our next challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. Such gorgeous colours reminded me of the ocean.

The background was sprayed with distress oxide spray. I think it gives a lovely result and I will be using it again :) Then it was stamped with white pigment ink which turns quite pale over the oxide ink. The elements were die cut then ink blended and adhered.

Thanks so much for stopping by - we'd love to see your card in our gallery.

  • dies: Gummiapan jellyfish, starfish, seahorse, happy birthday
  • stamps: Lavinia Stamps pink orbs, foliage set
  • inks: tumbled glass, chipped sapphire, peacock feathers distress oxides, Hero Arts unicorn pigment ink
