CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #595 sketch

hello crafters!

I'm so happy to be the host for this sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches and I've designed a simple sketch for you. The circles can be any shape you choose!

I decided I was in need of more christmas cards so this one uses christmas elements. The angel was die cut from ink smooshed card and the halo was heat embossed in gold. The tree was also die cut from ink smooshed card. The sentiment was stamped and gold heat embossed, die cut into a circle and popped up on foam tape.

the bees knees

I'm joining in today with the challenge at The Paper Players where Christy has set the CAS theme of 'bears'. While I don't have a lot of bear crafty things, I do have a favourite MFT set 'Cool Day' with the most adorable bears. I always seem to paper piece these characters and today was no exception.

I thought it would be perfect to give the bear wings. Then I thought well bears like bees (well, honey), so I'll make his jumper and beanie bee-coloured. And to top it off I found a bee-themed sentiment and made a bee-themed mug. So...is he a bear? or a bee? or just having an identity crisis. You be the judge! lol

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #594 colours

I'm delighted to be your host at CAS Colours & Sketches this month and I have chosen a pretty colour combo! We're into spring here in Melbourne, so these colours were perfect for some fresh flowers.

All the components were die cut then watercoloured in the chosen colour combo. Frog was inked lightly in the same green colour. The sentiment was stamped and die cut. I used hammered card for this one to add a little texture and interest too!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #593 sketch

 hello crafters!

The sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches this month was designed by Amanda. An interesting sketch which features a recurring shape with lots of possibilities!

The background rectangles were die cut from ink smooshed card then mounted on foam squares to make a shadow effect. The irreverent bunny was given magic and produced a carrot! haha Sentiment is a Tim Holtz sticker.

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #592 colours

Amanda is our host at CAS Colours & Sketches and she has chosen a fabulous colour combo! 

I recently received this Eiffel Tower die as part of a mystery pack of dies (love the mystery packs!). How gorgeous is this die? Happily, it's always been one of my favourite images (don't ask how many things in my home have an Eiffel Tower image lol) and I recently read that it was finally again painted in the original yellow-brown colour that Mr Eiffel himself chose. I decided to pay respect to this choice with Pecan Pie!

The flowers are part of the die, so I die cut it 3 times - once in each colour, cutting away the sections to leave pink flowers and blue leaves, then adhered them. The centre flower was die cut again and layered with foam to make it pop. The sentiment was stamped in the same blue.

*I was also fortunate enough to spend several days in Paris last month after my holiday to the UK, so it was literally a few weeks ago that I was gazing up at the Eiffel Tower and admiring the new colour. Ah Paris... 💕
