 hello again stampers!

The lovely sisters over at the sisterhood of snarky stampers have as their theme this fortnight #202 G is for Gel Printing. Well there's always a first time...!

I made the gelli print using distress oxide inks as I don't have any paints, but I used the same gelli printing technique. The first pull was the 3 background colours, and I thought it looked like a tall treed forest, so I continued with that theme. I added images using a Stampin Up Woodland embossing folder, Darkroom Door Wildflowers Vol 1 stamp set, and Darkroom Door Woodgrain texture stamp with different distress oxide ink colours. The sentiment from Stampendous Birthday Splash stamp set was adhered to black card and mounted on foam tape. The panel was lastly adhered to a black card base.

My technique needs improvement for sure but I certainly ended up with quite a few lovely card panels which will need more embellishment for future cards, and such fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

a note for you

 hello lovely stampers!

I've always wanted to go to Japan to see sakura - the cherry blossom trees in full bloom. From March to early May the cherry trees bloom from one end of the country to the other with a fleeting glimpse of swathes of beautiful blossoms on a backdrop of awe inspiring scenery. I will get there...one day!

The team at perfectlyCAS have as their theme this month: Flowers so I couldn't resist going with this image.

I die cut the mountain using Sizzix thinlits 664445 die set from an ink blended scrap of card. The cherry blossoms are stamped and die cut using Altenew Under the Cherry Blossom Tree sets with Altenew inks. I wanted "Mt Fuji" to form the backdrop with the flowers as the focus, so the blossoms are popped up on foam tape for dimension. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped directly on the card front with the same ink colour.

snowflake wishes

 hello there crafty stampers!

Among my new year's resolutions this year was to start a new blog with a new name, and post at least twice weekly. Doesn't sound too hard does it? I have had so much fun over the last 12 months creating cards, entering challenges and generally getting inky fingers, so I thought I would try and step it up a notch.

Today I have a lovely card for the just us girls challenge #615

They are the most beautiful colours and even though here it's mid summer and 28o outside, I couldn't resist channelling some snowflakes!

Some white pigment ink was splattered over a black card panel. Then I used Hero Arts Color Layering Snowflake stamps and die set as well as the Hero Arts Large Snowflakes and Swirls die. The snowflakes were stamped in pale blue and 1 was heat embossed in silver. These were all arranged on the panel with foam squares to look like snowflake flurries! The sentiment from the same set was stamped on white scrap and adhered to the panel with foam squares, and the design was finished off with some sparkly rhinestones.
