autumn leaves

 hello crafters!

I'm playing along today with the latest Inkspirational challenge where the theme is the 'spotlight technique'.  It's been a while since I used this technique on a card, but I do love the results.

I used an unbranded tree die, cut in white, then again for just the central part from an ink smooshed panel. This piece I then proceeded to stamp randomly with red, orange and yellow tiny spots and splashes. The trunks were ink blended brown. This was adhered to a stitched die cut panel that was watercoloured in blue, and I added some ink blending in green and a tiny ink smooshed birdie to finish off the spotlighted colour panel. Lastly, stamped and die cut the Gummiapan sentiment.

It's late Autumn here atm, and seeing the trees in a blaze of riotous colour is truly a beautiful sight. Thanks so much for stopping by.

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #537 sketch

 hello crafters!

The new sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches is ready and was designed by Patricia. This design presents so many possibilities I wanted to do more than one card, but in the end settled on an elegant look for this lovely sentiment.

I used an ink smooshed panel for the numbers, gold heat embossed then die cut them. I only have one set of number dies and a couple of different sizes would have been nice but I just cut them down to make them smaller, to keep with the sketch. The sentiment was die cut from gold heat embossed card as well as white card, then backed with black die cuts. They were adhered to the vellum with another set of letters behind to bring some dimension.

The gold is a bit hard to photograph well but here's another angle to show the shine! It's really quite pretty.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: MFT bitty banner, Kaisercraft numbers, Spellbinders A2 matting basics
  • stamps: Newtons Nook peony blooms

so glad

 hello crafters!

I've got some time today so decided to enter a few challenges. Luckily, I was able to combine 3 into 1 card. Timeout has an interesting challenge to use alphabet magnet letters; which I remember were so much fun! Inkspirational has a 'seasonal' theme and the snarky sisters have O is for Outside this month. Phew!

Die cutting the letters was the easy part but my goodness there were a lot to watercolour! The background panel was brayered with green from the bottom up and blue from the top down. Then random stamps were stamped in white and white heat embossed. Some of the letters got a bit of bling with a white jelly roll pen.

Love this sentiment -  Thanks for stopping by today!

  • dies: MFT bitty banner
  • inks: kitsch flamingo, mowed lawn, salty ocean, tumbled glass, bundled sage, mustard seed, candied apple, twisted citron, squeezed lemonade, carved pumpkin, wilted violet distress oxides

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #536 colours

   hello crafters!

This month's colour challenge at CAS colours and sketches was put together by Patricia! A lovely group of colours which I thought I'd use for a masculine card.

The background was stencilled lightly, the vase was die cut from design paper 3 times and stacked. These lovely eucalyptus sprays were die cut, ink blended then I used some tiny stamps for interest on the leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: Gummiapan eucalyptus 1 and 2, Paper Rose little vases, little foliage, MFT bitty banners
  • stamps: Lavinia foliage set, Gummiapan happy birthday
  • stencil: Darkroom Door brick wall
