CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #585 sketch

hello crafters!

Our latest sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches is out and we'd love to have you join in the fun. The central rectangle is perfect for a CAS card!

The background stripe was stencilled in crumb cake to match the card. The bricks were stencilled with several colours, then splattered with water to achieve an old brick look. This was backed by a watercoloured panel. The gumboots were die cut from ink smooshed card and popped up on foam squares. Sentiment was stamped with the brick colours.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: Gummiapan twigs, gumboots, MFT skinny strips
  • stamps: Paper Rose tiny forest sentiment
  • stencils: Darkroom Door bricks, Stamperia lines
  • inks: evergreen bough, barn door, aged mahogany, ground espresso distress oxides

hugs

 morning stampers!

I was up early today so I could finish off a card I started yesterday for the paper players. Stef has presented a sketch challenge this week and I had to join in the fun!

I got a pack of free design paper a few months ago when I purchased some crafty items and I've finally broken it out!  But I only used the reverse side (is there a reverse side?). Then I raided my die cut stash and found the little hexagons, a bloom, and a banner. Perfect! The leaves were die cut from the same paper as the die cut strip. The sentiment was die cut from the background card. And all these were mounted over some stamped random dots.

Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me today!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #584 colours

hello stampers!

Our latest challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches  is a gorgeous palette of colours that go so well together!

The background was subtly stencilled with a neutral colour. The butterflies and jug were die cut from ink smooshed panels leftover from another project. The sentiment was stamped, clear heat embossed and die cut, then adhered with foam squares.

Thanks so much for stopping by - we'd love to see your card in our gallery.

  • dies: Memory Box intricate mini butterflies, MFT skinny strips, Paper Rose vases
  • stamps: Penny Black especially for you
  • stencil: Stamperia lines
  • inks: pumice stone, twisted citron, carved pumpkin, victorian velvet, kitsch flamingo distress oxides

oh so happy

hello stampers!

I'm joining in today with a clean and simple challenge over at the paper players, where Christy has chosen the theme: baby animals. I don't have many stamps or dies of baby animals (yes I was shocked too!) so my choices were limited, but I did manage to find a ewe and lamb from my favourite MFT set. Happy days!

I stencilled the background with a large brush and subtle greenish hue which gives a lovely detail around the edge of the stencil shapes. This colour was matched with a panel mounted behind. The ewe and lamb were stamped in a pale grey on hammered card, to give the look of wool, then die cut and gently coloured, to keep the look soft and subtle.

Thanks for stopping by today - have a great day :)

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #583 sketch

 hello crafters!

This month's sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches was designed by Deborah.  Such a simple design that lends itself to so many options!

I used an older die set with birdhouses, die cutting them from watercoloured and stamped card, then adhering a die cut roof from ink smooshed card. The background was stamped to give a leafy feel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: Paper Rose birdhouses, MFT skinny strips
  • stamps: Aall and create 1179, Paper Rose tiny forest, Altenew wildflower doodles
  • inks: faded jeans, chipped sapphire, candied apple, iced spruce distress oxides
