one little baby

 hello stampers!

I saw the gorgeous sketch at freshlymadesketches this week and had to join in! I was in need of a baby card and thought this sketch provided the perfect design. I love baby cards with earthy colours, and of course the purity of white :)

The kraft panel was die cut then embossed with a 'mountains' design. The sweet Gummiapan toy animals were die cut, ink blended, layered twice then adhered to die cut hexagons, positioning them backed with lush leaves. One of my favourite sentiments was stamped on 2 die cut tags, linked with a little twine and adhered.

Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me today!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #581 sketch

 hello crafters!

This month's sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches was designed by Joanne. Such an interesting sketch, which looks more tricky than it is - just start with a focal point at the star!

The background was cut from a soft watercoloured panel, then the circle was die cut from it. A branch was adhered behind the panel, which was popped up on foam squares. The birdies and branches were die cut from ink smooshed card and adhered. Sentiment was stamped and die cut and finished with a die cut heart from the birdie card panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • dies: Hero Arts infinity circles, Gummiapan branches, heart, MFT skinny strips, Poppy stamps whittle birds
  • stamps: Penny Black grown with love
  • inks: abandoned coral, kitsch flamingo, black soot, chipped sapphire, stormy sky distress oxides

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #580 colours

 hello stampers!

We have a new colours challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches which is a palette of colours put together by Joanne. I thought such a bold colour combination would look great in a simple layout!

On a square card panel, I adhered the stitched square die cuts, then layered the die cut sentiment over the top. Tiny flowers and butterflies were also die cut from the coordinating colours and adhered.

Thanks so much for stopping by - we'd love to see your card in our gallery.

  • dies: Dress My Craft stitched squares, Lawn Fawn happy birthday line border, Gummiapan flowers, butterflies
  • inks: prize ribbon distress oxide

be mine

 hello crafters!

I saw the latest challenge at inkspirational where they ask for us to use stencils and as an optional twist, plaid! I don't know about you but when I think of plaid I always think of wooly jumpers and scarves - the hand knitted kind. I may be way off track, but I went with it anyway :) I'm also joining in with the ladies at just add ink where they also ask for stencils and/or die cuts.

The background was die cut from an ink blended panel with Hero Arts infinity rectangles, then stencilled with Stamperia lines. Over the top, a hearts stencil from Simon Hurley was used with Versamark and heat embossed with white. The MFT little sheep was stamped, die cut and paper pieced with plaid wool :) The Gummiapan llama was stamped, die cut and the scarf was paper pieced with the same plaid.  Don't they make an adorable couple? I couldn't resist sticking with the wooly theme and using the MFT sentiment from the same set.

Thanks for stopping by today and spending some time with me!

happy birthday

 hello crafters!

I came across the just add ink challenge which I haven't entered before I don't think. They have a great sketch challenge this week, so thought I'd join in!

I used a paper piece of wood texture from my stash which was black and white, so I ink blended it with a grey blue. A square was made up from 1" die cuts of design paper, which were adhered together then embossed with a random circle embossing folder to make it look like quilting. The circle theme was echoed with the die cut word circles and chocolate brown circle. Lastly I added little die cuts from my stash and stamped a sentiment to match.

Thanks for stopping by today :)
