CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #553 colours

Suzy is hosting this month and she's got the latest challenge ready at CAS Colours & Sketches. This time it's a colours challenge and she has put together such happy colours.

The background was stencilled lightly, then stamped with the tiniest 'special delivery' stamp in the same colour. The mailbox, envelopes and hearts were die cut and ink blended.The sentiment was stamped and die cut into a circle.

I'm also joining in with a new to me challenge Inspire.Create.Challenge where they have a clean & simple challenge this fortnight - what luck!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #552 sketch

 hello crafters!

I'm happy to present our sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches for January. The design reminded me of the beach so I went with a seaside theme. You can flip the design if you prefer, but I kept it a landscape orientation.

I used several colours of ink smooshing to create the water, then stencilled the waves ever so gently with white ink. The corner was torn to create the sea froth and it was adhered to a kraft card panel. The little shells and sea animals were die cut from ink smooshed card, some were given a little more ink blended colour. The sentiment was simply stamped with Versafine and clear heat embossed - amazing how dark it becomes on the kraft card.

I'm joining in today with a couple of challenges. The talented team at freshlymadesketches have a simple sketch which suits my CAS taste, justusgirls has a terrific mood board where I took inspiration from the berry branch and the little house, and the prompt at inkspirational is 'snow'. 

The background was a lovely panel of ink smooshed card in my stash that I thought was perfect for a wintry sky. I die cut the circles into a front panel of white card. The trees and berry branch were die cut and edged with white gelly roll pen for snow. The little houses were die cut from card stamped several times with a couple of colours. The sentiment was stamped in the same brown and die cut.

I thought the little scene was so sweet with just glimpses through the circle cutouts! Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #551 colours

 hello crafters and welcome to a new year of CC&S challenges!

I'm hosting for January and we're starting with a colours challenge. These colours reminded me of falling leaves, so I did an autumn themed card.

The background was lightly ink blended. The leaf pile die was cut from kraft card, inked randomly then had some little leaf die cuts adhered over the top. I just love the little falling leaf dies with their curly travel - so sweet!

it's only Tuesday

I'm kicking off the new year with a snarky card made especially for the sisters! The current challenge is N is for NBUS (never been used stuff). I used a brand new die from the Gummiapan advent calendar, day 5, as well as several stamps from Globleland that hadn't been used.

The background was stamped with several different stamps with an office theme in blues and browns. The border was edged with a micron marker. Sentiment from Tim Holtz backed with black card. The die was cut, stamped, backed with a black die cut, threaded with a ribbon, and popped up on foam tape.

I'm really hoping to join in with the snarky sisters more often than last year which was a bit of a crazy blur. I'm also posting this in Darnell's fabulous blog, NBUS. Hugs Darnell!
