CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #588 colours

 hello stampers!

This month for our colours challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches Suzy is our host and she's chosen some gorgeous deep colours. I wanted to do flowers but thought I'd change it up a little!

I recently got a new set of dies with flowers and leaves and thought it would be great in these colours. Then when looking through my die cut stash I came across this butterfly in the right purple colour. Serendipity!

I've been wanting to do a butterfly half flowers for a while. I ended up die cutting the leaves from green card and the flowers were die cut and watercoloured with the purple colours. Truly this was not a difficult make - simply placed and adhered the leaves and buds, then the purple flowers on top, after tracing out the shape of the butterfly in reverse. The sentiment was sponged with an ink dauber with both purple and black to make a variegated look.

Thanks so much for stopping by - we'd love to see your card in our gallery.

  • dies: Uniquely Creative flower cluster builder, Paper Rose butterfly, MFT skinny strips
  • stamps: Altenew sentiment strips
  • inks: wilted violet, black soot distress oxides

    1. Serendipity indeed - that butterfly is too pretty not to be used! The elegant outline detail balances those florals perfectly. Gorgeous design Rachel!

    2. The butterfly was meant to be used for this challenge! It looks beautiful with your flower cluster. It feels great to finally use a tucked away element on a card doesn't it? TFS!
