depresso

 hello crafters!

The talented team at timeout challenges has a photo for inspiration this week. I couldn't resist!

I chose a strip of design paper which was the closest thing I had to coffee beans, and die cut the coffee cups. The lids were die cut from black card, and the little labels from aqua card. They were assembled on the design paper which was adhered with foam tape to give the idea of space in the cups. The sentiment was stamped, die cut and adhered with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #547 sketch

 hello crafters!

This month's sketch challenge at CAS colours and sketches was designed by Laura.  I love the simplicity of this design which lends itself to so many options!

For some reason my brain went to birds sitting on a wire, so that's what I did. I switched the orientation horizontally, and used an ink smooshed panel for the background. The birds were die cut from another inked panel. The wires were really thin strips of black card and the sentiment die cut from white card. Quite a simple card to put together, in the end!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

  • inks: mowed lawn, salvaged patina distress oxides

sending hugs

 hello stampers!

I'm joining in today with the talented team at inkspirational where they have a mood board challenge. I love a mood board as it gives you so many directions to go, and this board is beautiful! I was inspired by the wooden planks, the butterfly, sunflowers and the colours.

I used some design paper for the background which had a wooden plank print then ink blended over the top, using a damp cloth to wipe some ink in places and make it look a bit grungy. The edges were blended with black. The die cut elements  were die cut, then watercoloured using the inspiration colours, with some popped up on foam tape for dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CAS Colours & Sketches challenge #546 colours

hello stampers!

It's our first challenge for October at CAS colours and sketches, and Laura has put these gorgeous colours together.  I can definitely feel an autumn vibe!

I used orange to blend the background, then adhered the vines, die cut from ink smooshed card. The dragonfly was cut twice from navy design paper, and adhered with its wings left loose. The circle was die cut from ink smooshed card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We'd love to see your card in the gallery!

I'm also posting this one on Timeout challenges where the challenge this week is an autumn themed one. I love the quote by Van Gogh, and realised I had a stamp with a similar quote from Camus. What luck!

happy birthday

 hello crafters!

I'm joining in today with the talented team at the paper players. It's a tic tac toe challenge and I chose to use the centre row: orange, die cut, stencil. Also posting it in the just us girls challenge #746 where it is stencil week.

I began by stencilling the background using Hero Arts Fall Leaves stencil. I used 4 distress oxide colours starting with the lightest and moved the stencil around between stencilling each colour. It gives such an interesting effect with so much dimension. Boots and sentiment are from Gummiapan, leaves from Spellbinders. The little leaves were die cut from ink smooshed card and adhered under the boots.
